May 31, 2006 by Alex • Short TripsPlymouth is just a short drive from Exeter in the UK, so I went there for a day trip in May 2006 while on my second stay in Devon this year. The last time I’ve been to Plymouth must have been a couple of years ago, and I remember it was one of the bleakest days, with low lying clouds and rain. This time, however, the weather was prefect though – spring at its best.
All images shown were taken on Plymouth Hoe. The term Hoe (Anglo-Saxon for “high” or “high place”) refers to Plymouth’s elevated part of the seafront. The Hoe’s dominating landmark is Smeaton’s Tower, a lighthouse which was moved to the Hoe already in 1877.
