A couple of days ago I was lucky enough to spend the weekend in Switzerland, close to the German border.

Unfortunately these days most parts of central Europe are free of snow, even though it is deep winter. Temperatures even exceed +15°C. Spring-like temperatures this time of the year: absolutely depressing – at least for my taste. In particular if you plan to have fun cross-country skiing close to home.

However, if you climb to higher altitudes like here on Säntis (2501m), finally there is some real snow! Glad we did the trip.
