Chichen Itza II - Mayan ruins

This second set of images from Chichen Itza concentrates on the ruins south of "El Castillo". The most prominent structure is "El Caracol", a round building on a large square platform which was used as a temple and an observatory. Further south one finds the so called nunnery, group of buildings known for its rich ornamental decoration.
This set also contains some images of "Old Chichen", a group further south which is sealed off from visitors these days.
The last image shows the Sacred Cenote in the far north of the city.
